The perpetuality of family conflict leads to divorce or separation.

Family conflict causes a lot of social and psychological problems to both spouses and children themselves. Minor conflicts in Africa society are resolved most times by friends and relatives of both the husband and the wife, but when the friends and relatives fails to resolute these minor conflicts, it may lead to major breakdown of the family institution. In uburu community, the umuada (the first daughters of the family), Umune (kinsmen) do gather at the village assembly to play important roles in order to maintain peace in the family. In families where there are problems and conflicts that have culminated to separation or divorce, there is every tendency that the family in question cannot provide its children with adequate parental care.

Family conflicts have contributed to the breakdown of marry maintain homes and this has turn to become a social problem in the society. Conflicts occur in the family between husband and wife as a result of diversity of ideas principles, gossip or the number of children to give birth to.
